While the sharp rise in the exchange rate continued, SOL Genç took to the streets in Kadıköy district of Istanbul. In the action supported by the citizens, slogans of ‘Government resign’ were chanted.
The dollar/TL continues to rise after AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated that they were determined to adopt low interest rates after the cabinet meeting yesterday.
The dollar, which started the day at the level of 11.40 TL, first exceeded 12 TL and then 13 TL within hours. The dollar, which gained more than 17 percent value in one trading day, increased its historical peak to 13.46 TL. Euro/TL saw above 15 TL level.
The SOL Party held a protest against the sharp rise in foreign exchange in Kadıköy, chanting “Government resign”.
