A flight between Austin, Texas and Frankfurt, Germany experienced severe turbulence over Tennessee.
Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves came close to disaster.
On Wednesday night the couple was in fact on board a Lufthansa flight, which lost altitude for almost 1200 meters due to the strong turbulence.
It happened after a flight between Austin, Texas, and Frankfurt, Germany experienced severe turbulence over Tennessee, causing seven people to become ill and forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing in Washington DC.
Camila revealed on Instagram that she and the Oscar-winning actor were only aboard that flight Thursday morning.
“At least seven people ended up in hospital”
“During the flight last night, I was told the plane went down almost 1200 meters, 7 people ended up in hospital, everything was flying everywhere,” Camila Alves wrote alongside a clip showing food and other debris on the aircraft floor.
“I ask you to respect the privacy of the passengers. The plane was in CHAOS, the turbulence rocked us endlessly. It’s just the @lufthansa flight you see on the news today!!!! Thank God we are all safe and sound.”
Adding, “I have to say, everyone at the @marriottbonvoy near the Washington airport where we had to reroute and spend the night was so nice! @officiallymcconaughey & I got to the bar 1 minute before closing…slept well, another flight today. The journey continues…».
The Brazilian model then left again, but unfortunately for her, the hardships followed her: “My usual luck!” She commented while sharing a story on IG.
