Serious allegations: Klopp threatens corona trouble

Liverpool FC is suspected of having forced a game to be postponed using false corona tests

Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp threatens corona trouble. Last week’s League Cup game against Arsenal had to be postponed after the club spoke of a “serious outbreak”. As Klopp said after the 4: 1 in the FA Cup against third division Shrewsbury on Sunday, an infection was only confirmed in Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“We had a lot of false positives (players), but the rules are what they are. Those with a false positive test couldn’t play,” said Klopp. The German himself returned to the sidelines in the FA Cup after a corona infection. The League Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal will now take place on Thursday.

As “The Athletic” reports, some clubs are now calling for an investigation by the EFL. The aim is to investigate whether Liverpool knew about the false test results and intentionally wanted to postpone the match against Arsenal. The Reds are currently struggling with numerous failures: Klopp has to do without Mo Salah and Sadio Mané because of the Africa Cup.
