Sega is removing Sonic games from digital stores

Among other things, Sega is known for the little, blue hedgehog, who goes by the name of Sonic. The company announced in a press release that the digital versions of the games Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD will be withdrawn from stores on May 20th. However, there are exceptions, for example Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 will still be available on the Switch via Sega Ages and the second part will also be playable via Sega Megadrive via Nintendo Switch Online.

Why all this? Sega certainly wants to push sales of the Sonic Origins coming in June. Because the games mentioned will be there. The title can already be pre-ordered.
