For a long time everyone was convinced that NetherRealm Studios was working on the third installment of DC’s fighting franchise, Injustice, as they have been alternating their development with each iteration of the Mortal Kombat series. But in February it unceremoniously revealed that the studio’s next game would be Mortal Kombat 12.
Thankfully, it looks like we’re going to be getting a nod to DC in the fighting game. When a DC fan tweeted that The Peacemaker was the best character in the DC Universe, Windows Central publisher, Jesus Cordenreplied that “It would be great if it was playable in an upcoming fighting game.”
Since Corden has shown on several occasions that he has good industry contacts, he could be advancing something he already knows. While Mortal Kombat 12 isn’t the only notable fighting game coming this year (we’ve got Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 on the horizon), Peacekeeper would fit perfectly into Mortal Kombat’s DNA, and owner NetherRealm Studios (Warner Bros. ) also owns DC so it would be pretty easy to figure out.
Would you play as The Peacemaker if he finally appeared in Mortal Kombat 12?
