The pharmaceutical and diagnostic giant Roche has signed a takeover contract with its German partner TIB Molbiol, which specializes in rapid tests for the detection of infectious diseases.
The financial outlines are not disclosed in the press release released on Thursday, but the transaction should be finalized before the end of the current year.
The operation will enrich the Rhine mastodon’s portfolio, in particular with tests to identify variants of Sras-Cov-2. The collaboration between Roche and TIB Molbiol dates back two decades already and has focused in particular on the fields of SARS, anthrax, avian flu, swine flu, Ebola and Zika.
Based in Berlin, TIB Molbiol has branches in Austria, Colombia, Italy, Spain and the United States.
