“Today I define myself as a woman and refer to the green basic program and the women’s statute” – this is what the family man and husband David Allison said when he ran for a women’s quota place in Reutlingen, Germany, when he was elected to the executive committee of the Greens’ association. There was no resistance, but heated discussions did. That’s what the magazine “Emma” writes.
According to Allison, all people have the right to define their gender for themselves. This attitude is in line with the basic program of the Greens in Germany. This includes the following sentences: “All people have the exclusive right to define their gender” and “The term” women “includes everyone who defines themselves in this way.” The party leadership also agreed with the candidacy.
Whether Allison will also be elected is another question. The election will take place on September 26th.
