The Retirement Board of the Government of Puerto Rico announced today, Tuesday, that the government will begin to disburse, on December 3, payments of the Christmas Bonus for pensioners of agencies, teachers and for retirees of the Judiciary.
Luis Collazo Rodriguez, executive director of the Retirement Board, explained by written communication that 94,437 pensioners from the central government, 414 pensioners from the Judiciary and 47,598 pensioners from the Teacher Retirement System will qualify for the Christmas bonus.
The official added that, in total, about $ 26 million will be disbursed for this concept.
Collazo explained that “as part of the public policy of our administration and the commitment of the governor Pedro Pierluisi with our pensioners, we will comply with the payment of the Christmas bonus for those who gave the best years of their lives to build the Puerto Rico of today. It is highly anticipated by our pensioners during this special time for all Puerto Ricans ”.
