Rabat – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, met Thursday in Rabat with the President of the National Assembly of Quebec, Nathalie Roy, and the delegation accompanying her.
These talks take place on the occasion of Ms. Roy’s participation in the work of the meetings of the Network of Women Parliamentarians and the Parliamentary Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) hosted by the Moroccan Parliament from 01 to 03 current .
During the talks, the two sides welcomed the achievements made in the relations between the two institutions, as well as the achievements of the Joint Parliamentary Committee and the results of its successive sessions, the House of Representatives said in a statement, noting that these sessions served to strengthen relations and coordinate in several areas of parliamentary priority, namely migration, security, the fight against terrorism, the digital transition, climate change, environmental protection and the economy environment, trade, investment and tourism, scientific research, education and teaching, women’s affairs, in addition to linguistic and cultural diversity and pluralism.
These talks also focused on the importance of parliamentary coordination, through the holding of the Joint Parliamentary Committee as soon as possible, permanent consultation at local, regional and international levels, the exchange and sharing of experiences and of parliamentary expertise, while reflecting on the creation of new innovative spaces to capitalize on the achievements, specified the same source, adding that it is also a question of opening up to new current issues of bilateral parliamentary priority and multilateral, the statement added.
The meeting was also an opportunity to present the parliamentary experience of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly of Quebec and to examine several regional and international issues that require unified parliamentary action, concluded the same source.
