Off-duty police refused to leave the bar working beyond the allowed time. He also assaulted an agent before trying to escape to avoid being handcuffed.
A member of the PSP, with the category of chief, was detained by his own colleagues, during an inspection operation in the Cova da Moura neighborhood, in Amadora, held at dawn on Sunday. Identifying himself as a police officer, the individual refused to leave an after-hours establishment, insulted and assaulted officers, and finally attempted to flee.
It was in the early hours of Sunday morning that PSP Rapid Intervention Teams traveled through the main arteries of the Cova da Moura neighborhood, to force people in the streets, cafes and bars to concentrate in a previously defined location. The aim was, once placed there, to subject people to a search that could find weapons or drugs.
