The dollar closed the week with losses. The US currency has been affected after the announcement that the Federal Reserve (Fed) ruled out keeping increases of more than 50 basis points on the negotiating table in the next two monetary policy meetings.
In the meantime, The Mexican peso gained 0.9% against the US currency, closing below 19.60 units, its strongest level since March 2020. In the last five days, the peso gained 1.4%, being its fourth week of gains in a row and the best in a month.
Secondly, the dollar index, the DXY, which tracks the behavior of the US currency against a basket of the six most important currencies, it has fallen 0.20%, standing at 101,653 units.
