Apple just announced the Apple Watch Pride Edition bands in India. To celebrate Pride Month (June), Apple has released two new Pride Edition Apple Watch bands, as well as Pride dynamic watch faces in support of the global LGBTQ+ community and the equality movement.
What Apple Says This year’s Pride Edition Sport Loop features a gradient design with the word “Pride” woven directly into the band. In recent years, Apple has been a strong supporter of LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations and this year Apple will also launch a new “Shot on iPhone Pride” campaign on Instagram in June, capturing the essence of artists and personalities within the global LGBTQ+ community.
Pride Edition Sport Loop and Nike Sport Loop Pricing and Availability
Both Prime Edition bands cost Rs 3,900 and they are available now on Apple.com and Apple Store app. The bands will be available in the Apple Store from May 26 and soon the Nike Sport Loop will also be available on nike.com. Both Pride Edition straps are compatible with any Apple Watch.
Pride Edition Sport Loop
To deliver a new expression of pride, this bracelet comes with a unique design inspired by members and allies of Apple’s LGBTQ+ creative community. This particular band utilizes the comfortable, durable, and adjustable Sport Loop design. Additionally, Apple used a new technique to remove several of the double-layered nylon woven textile loops on the band to reveal the word “Pride” in a cursive style inspired by the original “Hello” greeting – displayed on the first Macintosh in 2022.
The gradient includes the original rainbow colors with those drawn from various Pride flags, including light blue and pink and white representing transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and black and brown symbolizing black and Latinx communities. The colors also represent those living with or who died from HIV/AIDS.
Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop
As always, there is a Nike edition of the Sport Loop. Designed to celebrate the full spectrum of the rainbow, the new Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop features a matching rainbow-colored Nike Bounce watch face.
Pride Threads Watch Face
The latest Pride watch face is available today for Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 8.6 and iPhone 6s or later with iOS. .5. Inspired by multiple Pride flags, this watch face combines colors to represent the strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ movement. The colorful threads move when the Digital Crown on Apple Watch is rotated, the display is tapped, or the user’s wrist is lifted.
