In the future, the Dutch airline will equip its long-haul jets with up to 28 premium economy seats. The new class from North America routes will be used first.
It is the big cabin trend of recent years: the premium economy. Now KLM is also starting with the seat class, which is more comfortable than Economy Class and cheaper than Business Class. The Dutch airline calls it Premium Comfort Class and wants to start offering it on North American routes from the end of July.
The new seat class at KLM will have between 21 and 28 seats, depending on the aircraft type. The seats are wider and offer more legroom at 38 inches or 97 centimeters, have a larger screen, USB and power sockets, a footrest and recline further than Economy Class seats. Those who travel in class are given priority boarding and can take more luggage with them.

Would you like a cocktail?
The Premium Economy at KLM also has special food. On intercontinental flights, one or two hot meals are served, depending on the duration of the flight. There is always a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian dishes.
After the meal, passengers are offered coffee, tea, liquor and ice cream. Between meals, snacks and cocktails are served. Passengers also get more flexible baggage policies and priority check-in and boarding.
