Meerut, March 6 :(Urdudunyanews.com/agencies) The incident turned violent after clashes and stone pelting between Hindu and Muslim communities in UP’s Meerut ahead of Holi. At least six people were injured in the incident late Sunday night. The situation is now under control. In view of the tension, a heavy police force has been deployed in Brahmapuri police station area of Harinagar area of Meerut. According to reports, the trouble started when two persons were collecting donations to celebrate Holi. Due to the derogatory comments made during this, some people from the other community got into a scuffle.
Damaged vehicles, broken windows and panicked locals running around were seen at the scene. Among the injured are two persons belonging to the Hindu community, who allegedly attacked several Muslims in the area and threatened to ruin their Holi celebrations. what I. Police have started investigation after a written complaint. Police force has also been increased in the area. The police spokesperson said that the CCTV footage is being examined to identify the culprits. No arrests have been made in this case yet and further investigation is on.
