Petro Atletico beat Sundowns in the Champions League

Angolan club Petro Atlético achieved a valuable victory over its South African counterpart Mamelodi Sundowns, with two goals to one, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.

Lyle Lakai opened the match goals in the sixth minute of the match for Sundowns.

Thiago Azulao scored the equalizer in the 16th minute, before Adriano Duarte scored Petro Atletico’s second goal in the 45th minute of the match.

Petro Atlético put forward in the CAF Champions League semi-finals after defeating Sundowns.

The return leg will be held in South Africa at Sundowns Stadium on April 23 of this month.

The winner of the match between Sundowns and Petro Atletico will meet the winner of the match between Wydad of Morocco and Chabab Belouizdad of Algeria in the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
