Report analyzed European productions: 37 percent of TV fiction episodes in 2021 written by female screenwriters – The proportion of women among cameramen is particularly low
Strasbourg/Vienna – The proportion of women in key positions in films and series for television, streaming or video on demand is low in European productions. That occupies one just published report by the European Audiovisual Observatory, part of the Council of Europe. 37 percent of “TV fiction episodes” were written by female screenwriters in 2021, but only 22 percent were directed by women. In music and camera work, the proportion of women was only ten percent.
