The announcement was made during the afternoon of this Sunday by the Chilean Ministry of the Interior via Twitter. He reported that, together with the Foreign Affairs and Health portfolios, “confirm the opening of all land border crossings from next May 1, 2022″. Chile closed all its borders on March 17, 2020.

In November 2021, it resumed air traffic through the Santiago airport and later also rehabilitated it at the Antofagasta and Iquique terminals, in the north, and Punta Arenas, in the south.

The land crossings between Argentina and Chile are Jama (Jujuy); Sico and Socompa (Salta); San Francisco Pass (Catamarca); Black Pircas (La Rioja); Black Water (San Juan); Christ the Redeemer and Pehuenche (Mendoza); Cardenal Samor, Hua Hum, Mamuil Malal, Carirrie, Icalma and Pino Hachado (Neuqun); Perez Rosales and Ro Manso (Ro Negro); Huemules, Futaleuf and Cohiaique (Chubut); Austral Integration (Santa Cruz); and San Sebastian (Tierra del Fuego).
