HCD: A Swede comes, a Swede goes
Mathias Bromé has prematurely terminated his contract with Davos for family reasons. The Swedish striker and HCD top scorer of the past season returns to his homeland and joins Örebro. For this, Leon Bristedt joins the Grisons from the Swedish Champions Hockey League winner Rögle BK. The 27-year-old, who scored 46 points in 46 games in the domestic league last season and made a significant contribution to the triumph in the Champions Hockey League with 12 points, has signed a two-year contract.
Goalkeeper Juho Olkinuora to Biel
EHC Biel has signed Finnish national goalkeeper Juho Olkinuora for the coming season. The 31-year-old last played 3 seasons in the KHL for Metallurg Magnitogorsk, before that he was involved in the Finnish Liiga and in North America (AHL, ECHL). Olkinuora became world champion (2019) and Olympic champion (2022) with Finland, where he played against Switzerland in the quarterfinals, among other things. He occupies the 6th foreigner position at the Seeländer and has signed a contract until April 30, 2023.
Switzerland part of the Euro Hockey Tour
The Swiss national team will be part of the Euro Hockey Tour for the next two seasons. The corresponding contract was signed as part of the Sweden Hockey Games. In addition to Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic are there. Four tournaments will be held between November and May in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. Each nation is the host once, Switzerland both times in mid-December.
