Within the framework of the expansion carried out by the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company of La Plage Beach for popular tourism in Wadi Qandil in the countryside of Latakia, the Minister of Tourism, Engineer Muhammad Rami Martini, and Secretary of the Latakia Branch of the Party, Engineer Haitham Ismail, opened the La Plage Hotel and overnight huts, with the aim of revitalizing popular tourism in the governorate.
The hotel is a two-star hotel, provides 100 job opportunities, consists of three floors, and includes 32 rooms and a dining hall with its services, while the beach includes 64 rooms, 168 chairs, a children’s pool, 24 wooden huts and a cafeteria, with its services, in addition to showers, showers, 2 sales points, and accommodation rooms. Number 5 above the services block.
Martini also opened the “Golden Gulf Beach” facility for popular tourism in Hmeimim in Jableh, the first facility of its kind, and it includes a restaurant with a capacity of 120 chairs and 30 wooden cabins for overnight accommodation and providing services, as well as children’s playgrounds and water activities, in addition to the opening of the Al-Basil swimming pool in the city of Latakia.
Minister Martini explained in a statement to reporters that Latakia Governorate is a stop on a tour that includes six governorates, which began with Homs and Hama, then Tartous, and today Latakia, and soon in Deir ez-Zor, pointing out that today’s tour is dedicated to popular tourism projects, to be followed by the launch of work on new investment facilities, in Upcoming tours.
The Minister of Tourism stated that the opening of Hmeimim Beach for popular tourism embodies a true model of fruitful partnership between the public and private sectors to provide distinctive products and pioneering services. He considered that the La Plage Hotel in Wadi Qandil has the peculiarity of being the first hotel in Syria with the concept of an integrated and modern hotel building that rises to the level of classified facilities. Within the four-star category at popular prices determined by the Ministry of Tourism, it constitutes a valuable addition to the La Plage project, which opened in 2019, while relying on renewable and alternative energies to provide sustainable services to site visitors.
The head of the Latakia Governorate Council, Engineer Tayseer Habib, stated that the increasing demand from the people of other Syrian governorates played a major role in the direction of Latakia Governorate to devote the concept of popular tourism and to focus on the tourism industry to secure tourist facilities at various levels. He added that supporting popular tourism projects contributes to the development of communities. Local and administrative units, while devoting to preserving the character of the agricultural environment.
His directive, to the General Director of the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company, Engineer Fayez Mansour, pointed out the spread that the company has achieved throughout the Syrian geography and its contribution to creating new job opportunities and supporting popular tourism projects.
