new Opel Astra turned out to be stylish small – Wylsacom

Opel, which changed ownership in 2017 from General Motors to Groupe PSA (which includes Citroën, Peugeot, DS Automobiles and now Opel, along with Vauxhall), has unveiled a new generation of the Astra hatchback. For the first time in a long time, Opel, which recently returned to Russia, will be sold in our country.

Guys, this is style. Just look:

The new corporate identity is called Opel Vizor. It was introduced back in 2018 on the Opel GT X Experimental concept, and since 2020 it has been introduced into production cars. The first was the Opel Mokka crossover. Still, with Vizor, the new Astra looks much better than the Mokka:

Actually, the new Astra is the brother of the Peugeot 308 presented in March. The Frenchman also turned out to be very stylish:

The Opel Astra of the sixth generation has changed a lot in size relative to the previous version: it has grown by 4 mm in length and reached 4374 mm, in width it has decreased by 11 mm to 1860 mm. The height of the car is unknown, but the wheelbase is 2675 mm (that’s 13 mm plus).

The top version of the Astra will receive Intelli-Lux LED headlights with 84 elements in each of them.

Despite the common platform EMP2 with the Peugeot 308 and almost identical dimensions, the trunk of the Astra is ten liters larger and is 422 liters. This, by the way, is 52 liters more than the previous generation Opel Astra.

Everything in the salon is also very cool:

The central part is two 10-inch displays, united by a single Pure Panel. Under it, they left physical control buttons for important elements of the media system and climate. And this is good.

So far, only a hatchback is presented, but the Astra Sports Tourer station wagon will have to wait.

Iron

The electric version of “Astra” will also have to wait. She will be, but later. It will probably be shown in 2022. Now the car is available both in a conventional version with an internal combustion engine and in a hybrid version:

Version Engine Transmission
1.2 PureTech front-wheel drive Gasoline three-cylinder internal combustion engine, 110 HP sec., 205 Nm Six-speed “mechanics” or eight-speed “automatic”
1.2 PureTech front-wheel drive Gasoline three-cylinder internal combustion engine, 130 HP sec., 230 Nm Six-speed “mechanics” or eight-speed “automatic”
1.5 BlueHDi, front-wheel drive Turbodiesel, 130 l. s., 300 N · m Six-speed “mechanics” or eight-speed “automatic”

There will also be hybrids, but there is no exact data on them. These will be two motors for 180 and 225 hp. from. Apparently, they will be similar to those in the Peugeot 308:

Version Motor Transmission Battery and mileage
Hybrid 180 e-EAT8 PureTech 1.6 petrol engine (150 HP, 250 Nm) + electric motor (110 HP and 320 Nm). Total: 180 liters. from. and 360 N m Electrified eight-band “automatic” integrated into the motor Battery capacity 12.4 kWh, 60 km without starting the internal combustion engine
Hybrid 225 e-EAT8 PureTech 1.6 petrol engine (180 HP, 250 Nm) + electric motor (110 HP and 320 Nm). Total: 225 liters. from. and 325 N m Electrified eight-band “automatic” integrated into the motor Battery capacity 12.4 kWh, 59 km without starting the internal combustion engine

But in Russia, these versions are unlikely to be available.

Dates and prices
