Do the corona numbers go up significantly when the summer holidays are over? The state government wants to be prepared if the burden on the clinics becomes too high. Above all, this has consequences for those who have not been vaccinated.

Stuttgart – From this Monday on, unvaccinated adults face new corona restrictions in Baden-Württemberg. In its draft Corona ordinance, the state has set new limit values from which these restrictions should apply. As the German Press Agency learned from government circles, a first warning level should apply as soon as 250 intensive care beds are occupied with Covid 19 patients or 8 out of 100,000 residents have been admitted to a clinic with symptoms within seven days. If these values are exceeded, unvaccinated persons should only have access to certain public areas with a PCR test.

When the country raises alert

The country wants to trigger the alert if 390 Covid patients are treated in intensive care units or the so-called hospitalization incidence is 12. Then the 2G rule should apply in the southwest. That would mean that only those who have been vaccinated or recovered are allowed to visit restaurants, for example. At the moment the 3G rule applies. According to this, certain areas of public life are open to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, as well as those who have tested negative. The planned new Corona regulation is currently still being coordinated between the ministries, but the warning levels are, according to reports, fixed. The ordinance is expected to be promulgated at the end of the week and come into force on September 13th.

174 Covid patients in the country’s intensive care units

174 Covid patients are currently in the country’s intensive care units. The hospitalization index is slightly above 2. Mainly because of the number of people returning from abroad, the country expects increasing incidences and significantly more intensive care patients when the school holidays end this weekend. According to a prognosis by the State Health Office, the limit of 250 occupied intensive care beds could be exceeded in just over a week. The 300 mark could be reached on September 20th.
