Netflix adds spatial audio to some series and movies | NOW

Netflix has added spatial audio to some of its series and movies. This includes the fourth season of Stranger Things.

Netflix uses sound technology from Sennheiser for this, the German manufacturer announced on Thursday. This adjusts the sound in such a way that it seems as if it comes from all over the room around you.

Subscribers do not need a special sound system to listen to the spatial audio. According to Netflix, the technology works on television, headphones, tablets and laptops.

Users don’t need to enable the new capability, they use it automatically. In addition to the fourth season of Stranger Things the spatial audio has been added to the series The Witcher and the movie Red Notice† It is planned to be added to more series and films in the future.
