The soap opera that agitates Spain.
The UEFA Disciplinary Committee announced this Thursday to open an investigation against FC Barcelona for a “possible violation of the legal framework of the federation by FC Barcelonain the context of the “Negreira affair”. As revealed by The confidential on Wednesday, the European body would consider depriving Barça of European competitions.
As a reminder, according to the Public Ministry, Barça would have paid, between 2001 and 2018, more than 7 million euros to José Maria Enriquez Negreira, number two in Spanish arbitration for a long period (1994-2018). These payments would have potentially been for the purpose of getting a helping hand on the ground. According to LaLiga president Javier Tebas, the facts – dating back more than 5 years – would be considered time-barred, and the Catalan club would therefore not risk anything sportingly in Spain.
We are certainly not at the end of our surprises.
