NBA: Trae Young extends with the Atlanta Hawks

The news, which had filtered through the American media, is now official. Trae Young (22, 1.85m) will continue to wear the Atlanta Hawks colors for five seasons. The player and the franchise have agreed on a contract of at least 172 million dollars, which could go up to 207 if the star leader unlocks certain bonuses by obtaining, for example, an MVP title.

“It’s a big day for the Hawks and the city of Atlanta. Trae is a truly special player and someone who accepted his leadership role on and off the pitch from day one. We are delighted to have him as a cornerstone of our long term plan to bring the title back to Atlanta ”, said franchise president Travis Schlenk.

Young, drafted in 5th place in 2018, took the Hawks to the Conference final last season, where they lost 4-2 to future champion Milwaukee.
