Thomas Lüthi showed progress during the Moto2 race in Jerez but he remains far from the best. The Bernese took 7th place in the 3rd Grand Prix of the season. His best result. In MotoGP, the French Fabio Quartararo clinched his second consecutive victory after having completely dominated the race.

Lüthi dropped almost 14 ” on winner Enea Bastianini. The 22-year-old Italian won his 4th World Championship victory, his first in Moto2. The podium carried the colors of Italy with the second row from Luca Marini and the third from Marco Bezzechi.

Ill, Jesko Raffin has given up standing at the start of this third race of the season. The Zurich resident complained on Saturday of blood circulation problems and dizziness.

Two in a row for Quartararo

In MotoGP, Quartararo (21) beat Spaniard Maverick Vinales and veteran Italian Valentino Rossi (41) all three on Yamaha. He thus takes off in the world championship after two events. The transalpine rider is back on the podium for the first time since April 2019 in Austin, where he finished second.

Moto3: Dupasquier close to his first points

Jason Dupasquier is progressing from race to race on the occasion of his first season in the Moto 3 World Championship. The 18-year-old Friborg man, who started from only 28th position, finally finished 19th in the Andalusian GP at Jerez. He narrowly missed scoring his first points. In the first two Grand Prix of the season, the KTM rider did not place in the top-20.

Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki secured victory in Moto3 after starting from pole position. Despite his crash and no points scored, the Spaniard Albert Arenas (KTM) remains the leader of the World Championship.
