Monkeypox virus: new cases of monkeypox detected every day in UK

A statement from the head of the UK Health Security Agency.

Cases without contact with West Africa

Susan Hopkins also confirms endemic contamination in the United Kingdom with “cases that have no identified contact with an individual from West Africa”.

“Community transmission is largely concentrated in urban areasshe clarified, and we see it primarily in individuals who identify as gay or bisexual, or other men who have sex with men.

A preponderance of this population in new cases which she explains by “the frequent close contacts they may have”.
