Initiated in 2016 by the League against cancer and in partnership with E.Leclerc companies, the “All united against cancer” operation has been relaunched in Reunion. The operation echoes the national campaign conducted over the past fifteen years. The local version of this operation within the stores of the E.Leclerc brand is specific to Reunion since the sums collected are entirely donated to the care of patients on the island at the pediatric oncology department of the Reunion University Hospital. . The funds are intended to improve the care of patients and the reception of their families, the optimization of the premises dedicated to care, with the construction of a new space, and local research against cancer.
“The CHU is very happy to be part of the national cancer control plan, says Lionel Calenge, general manager of the CHU and the GHER. Pediatric cancer in particular is a major national cause since 2,500 new cases of pediatric cancer are detected each year. It is the second leading cause of death among young people. »
