Christopher Ramirez disappeared on Wednesday while playing with a neighbor’s dog. His parents were just unloading the car when they lost sight of the child. The dog came back, but Christopher didn’t, and local authorities launched a massive search.
According to the New York Post, even the FBI was involved in the search, which resulted in Saturday morning. Christopher was a little dehydrated and hungry, “but he was healthy and reasonably happy,” said Sheriff Don Sowell.
It is still unclear how the boy survived three days in the woods. He is now – with his mother – in a hospital to recover from his adventure.
According to founder Tim Miller of EquuSearch, an organization that often initiates and coordinates searches, Christopher Ramirez is a special case. “I’ve been doing this for 21 years now and this is only the second time we’ve found a child unharmed after such a long time.” Miller was therefore on the verge of giving up and abandoning the search.
The man who eventually found the boy wants to remain anonymous. According to Sheriff Sowell, during his Bible study, the man had received a signal ‘from above’ that he had to search, because then he would certainly find the boy. That turned out to be true.
