Microsoft optimizes spelling dictionary

August 11, 2022 –
The new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25179 has some changes in store, including, for example, a spelling dictionary optimized with a language-neutral word list.

Microsoft delighted the developer community on Wednesday with the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25179, which offers a handful of new features to test. One of them is the File Explorer tab, already known from the beta channel, but now improved and stabilized again.

The game dictionary is also said to have received an update: it now has a language-neutral glossary that can be turned on and off in the settings. Microsoft is currently working on ways to sync this feature between devices using the same Windows account. Not only the dictionary has received an update, with the Anjal keyboard Microsoft is also expanding its range of keyboard languages. The Anjal keyboard lets Tamil speakers use special Tamil character markings – but Microsoft says this feature is limited to a subset of insiders.

In addition, Microsoft is making other small changes and fixing numerous small bugs. A full list of all changes can be found on Microsoft’s blog post. (rf)
