According to a new rumor posted by Twitter account @ Onion00048, the new studio acquired by Microsoft for Xbox Game Studios, which will be announced during Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2021, will be none other than Crytek, the developer of Crysis, Hunt: Showdown, the first Far Cry and also CryEngine.
According to the source, Crytek and Microsoft started talking about the agreement in April 2021, that is, not so long ago. Hence the announcement during the Xbox conference at E3 2021.
Crytek is currently working on a soft reboot for the Crysis series, essentially a fourth chapter but unrelated to the rest, which will only be released on PC and Xbox, although it is also in development for the PlayStation. According to rumors, the new Crysis will only be released on PC and Xbox Series X / S, avoiding the old Xbox, with the aim of providing 60 fps and ray tracing. It is expected that the structure of the game will be similar to the structure of the first Crysis, namely with open levels, but not with a single open world.
As always in such cases, treat everything with due caution, because these are just unconfirmed rumors.
