Michael Jackson’s iconic ‘Thriller’ album will be the subject of an official documentary

It will be the third non-fiction film subsequently dedicated to a King of Pop album Bad 25 (2012) et al Michael Jackson’s journey from Motown to Off the Wall (2016), directed by Spike Lee.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the album Thriller by Michael Jackson, the artist’s estate and Sony Music Entertainment will pay tribute to the best-selling record of all time in an official documentary.

Directed by journalist, music historian and filmmaker Nelson George, this film, currently in production, will trace the creation of this record-breaking album, as Sony Music Entertainment specifies in a press release. No release date has been announced at this time.

“This documentary will include never-before-seen footage and interviews and will chronicle the moment Jackson’s career began to become a megastar and pop culture phenomenon who continues to influence the worlds of music, television, dance, fashion and more to this day. ,” the statement read.
