Mets trade JD Martínez and Vázquez from Red Sox

The price tag to acquire Venezuelan catcher Willson Contreras and reliever David Robertson from the Cubs is perhaps too high for the Cubs. MetsHowever, the Queens office seems to have another plan in mind. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, New York sent a listener to Boston on Friday to get a good look at the designated hitter JD Martinez and the Puerto Rican catcher Christian Vazquez.

The Red Sox, who sit in the basement of the AL East, are expected to become sellers after the debacle they’ve endured in recent weeks since before the All-Star break. They have previously been linked to Metropolitans 1B/DH Dominic Smith, whose player could be involved in a possible exchangeif it happens.

Smith, who is hitting .194/.276/.284 without a homer in 58 games for New York in 2022, is rehabbing a sprained right ankle and is expected to start a rehab assignment next week, according to the Foreman Buck Showalter.

After having been a radio announcer for a few years in the “Perla Tapatia”, I returned to my hometown, Mazatlán, Sinaloa and was hired by El Debate Newspaper in May 2019. My first months in El Debate were writing articles for the vertical: “My Pocket”, however, in September of the same year I became part of the powerful lineup of “Al Bat”, where I am still working as a web journalist. In “Al Bat”, we truthfully present to our readers the most relevant aspects of the baseball world, mainly from the MLB, winter leagues in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Asian continent. I am a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League and the Boston Red Sox in the American League. My big dream is to get to know the Fenway Park stadium, the historic venue of the “Patirrojos”.
