Tshopo: start of the meningitis vaccination campaign in Banalia




The receipt of 187,460 doses of Menactra vaccines and vaccination equipment from the International Coordination Group enabled the launch of the meningococcal meningitis vaccination campaign in Banalia, in the province of Tshopo where the epidemic was declared. September 7, 2021.

This operation, which targets around 150,000 people aged 1 to 49, will take place in the Panga health area, more than 128 km from the city of Kisangani, for 5 days, from October 10 to 15.

It is organized by the Ministry of Health, Hygiene and Prevention, with the support of WHO, Unicef, CDC, MSF-CH and Gavi.
It should be noted that the teams are mobilized on the ground in order to successfully fight against this umpteenth epidemic which is scouring the province of Tshopo.
