The head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), Viktor Maygurov, believes that the composition of the Russian women’s team is balanced, but there is no clear leader in it, unlike the men’s team.
At the World Cup, the Russian team will be represented by Svetlana Mironova, Ulyana Nigmatullina, Larisa Kuklina, Irina Kazakevich, Valeria Vasnetsova and Kristina Reztsova.
– The plan that the coaching staff of the women’s team uses is aimed at the progress of all athletes. The work of the senior coach of the Russian national biathlon team is generally very nervous, but I am sure that our specialists approach everything with a cool head.
– Don’t you think that the male composition of the Russian national biathlon team is more balanced than the female one?
– There are leaders everywhere. The female composition is also balanced, but there are no clear leaders of the national team, like among men, – said Maygurov.
The first stage of the Biathlon World Cup will take place in Östersund (Sweden) from November 27 to 28.
