Short film: After the success of its second edition, the Marrakech Short Film Festival (MARRAKECHsFF) is launching a call for applications for its 3rd edition scheduled for the end of September 2023. According to the organizers, this call, open until March 31, 2023, is aimed at directors of short films between 6 and 25 minutes, all genres combined.
It is intended for Moroccan and international directors. “The return of the call for applications comes with the launch of the Low budget film program which is a program dedicated to helping Moroccan filmmakers from previous editions of the festival”, explain the initiators. Note that the festival has three selections: the Moroccan selection, the international selection and the selection of the country of honor.
Its aim is to be an event focused on the short film industry. “The Low budget film program is one of our actions to achieve this objective by supporting the development of the Moroccan short film industry”, notes the same source. And to add: “In partnership with Chaoui Production and under the sponsorship of the producer Lamia Chraibi, we will select each year two or more among the projects of our winners in order to develop them with them”. This program will support filmmakers from A to Z in their filmmaking process, providing them with technical, financial and mentoring assistance.
