Sergejus Paskevicius, a 59-year-old man from Manchester, appeared in court on Saturday July 30 for attempted kidnapping of a child from an Aldi store.
According to information from The Sun, CCTV footage showed the man talking to a child at 5.45pm on July 23 in the supermarket. After talking with it, it can be seen that he attempts to pick up the youngster and walk out of the store with it. “We have cleared charges against a 59-year-old man after an initial report of an attempted child abduction from a shop in Heywood a week ago,” Greater Manchester Police said.
The Aldi chain of stores did not wish to react at this time, believing that it is an ongoing police matter and that it is not appropriate to comment at this time.
