On July 26, Carlsen defeated Chinese Ding Liren 2.5-1.5 (3-0 in the match). Before the sixth round, Carlsen shared the first line with the Russian Jan Nepomniachtchi… But the Russian grandmaster defeated Vishy Anand from India only in a tie-break – 3: 2 (2: 1).
Another Russian, Vladimir Kramnik, defeated the Israeli Boris Gelfand 3-2 (2-1).
The representative of the Netherlands Anish Giri beat the Hungarian Peter Leko 2.5-1.5 (3-0). And the Russian Peter Svidler defeated the Ukrainian Vasily Ivanchuk 3-2 (2-1).
Carlsen after the sixth round takes the first place, gaining 17 points out of 18 possible. Nepomniachtchi is in second place (16), and Kramnik is in third (12).
