Lufthansa, the red for the quarter drops to 467 million

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 03 – The Lufthansa Group closes the first three months of the year with revenues up 40% to 7 billion euros, a net loss that is reduced to 467 million euros from 584 in the same period of the last year and an adjusted Ebitda of 272 million euros. The company makes it known. Adjusted Ebit also improved in the quarter, to -273 million euros from -577 million last year and from -336 million in the first quarter of 2019, i.e. before the pandemic. Passengers transported in the first three months were 22 million, against 13 million in the same period last year. Capacity has increased to 75% and for the current year, the Group expects an average of 85-90% compared to 2019. As for the outlook, the Lufthansa Group confirms that it will improve Ebit this year and achieve the target of an Adjusted Ebit of at least 8% in 2024. “The Lufthansa Group is back on track. After a good first quarter in which we were able to significantly improve our results, we now expect a boom in travel in summer and a new record in our full-year traffic revenues,” said Chief Executive Officer, Carsten Spohr.
