WhatsApp will start converting voice messages to text, WABetaInfo reports.

The portal has information about the development of a long-awaited function in the messenger – the transcription of a voice message into text. The developers have already demonstrated an example of such decryption in the WhatsApp application installed on the iPhone.

To activate the transcription, the user will need to grant special permission to the application. The text will be stored in an encrypted WhatsApp database.

So, it is reported that the text will be decrypted online. If the voice message is long, the user presumably will be able to select the segment that needs to be translated into text.

The function is planned to be included in the planned update of the messenger for iOS devices in the near future. When the function will be available for Android-based gadgets, it is not yet known, as noted.
