Lockenhaus has been inviting people to a large chamber music festival for 40 years

For forty years, music weeks of a very special kind have been held in Burgenland. The sometimes irrepressible pleasure in the game is lived out here without fees and constraints.

The much-invoked spirit of Lockenhaus is still alive today: interpreters who are friends come together in this “oasis”, as Gidon Kremer calls the chamber music festival he founded. They refresh themselves with the irrepressible desire to return to the origin of their profession. Without a fee and without the usual constraints and routines of the classical music business, they immerse themselves deeply in the music.
