LEONES HIT FIRST IN MONTERREY – Leones de Yucatán

Monterrey, NL (leones.mx) July 30, 2022.- The Leones pulled out their claws to beat the Sultanes de Monterrey 8-5, this Friday at the Mobil Super Stadium, and are approaching the LMB Playoffs.

In the first of the series at the Sultana, the royals went ahead in the third inning with a solo home run by Ramiro Peña, however, the hairy reaction came moments later to make three lines with homers by Art Charles and Sebastián Valle, the latter with Starlin Castro on board.

The home team did not lower their arms and responded with a four-run rally in the sixth round supported by unstoppable producers from Orlando Calixte and Zoilo Almonte, along with a four-corner strike from Víctor Mendoza.

Already in the eighth, the peninsulares let their hair down to put together a lethal five-run attack that ended up leading them to victory, thanks to a double by Luis Juárez that emptied all three mats, followed by a panoramic two-run homer by Josh Fuentes.

The victory went to Tyler Wilson who came out intact in one and a half hours, prescribing three chocolates in a row. The defeat was charged by Carlos Morales, who was unable to win the game and received all the damage from three hits and four runs. The save went to Tim Peterson.

Yucatan will seek this Saturday at 5:00 pm to secure the series, sending left-handed Manuel Chavez to the center of the diamond, who will face Adrián Gusman for Monterrey. The actions can be enjoyed live on ESPN, La Comadre 98.5 and jonron.tv.
