Shortly before retirement, the top model of the Italians once again expanded as the LP 780-4 Ultimae.

Although Lamborghini gave the Aventador an extensive facelift some time ago, the time for the top model from the Italian sports car manufacturer has slowly but surely come. But in the end, the 12-cylinder bull really scratches its hooves again. In the final model, which goes by the name LP 780-4 Ultimae, the performance of the SVJ and the look of the Aventador S are practically combined. The farewell edition is offered as a coupé and roadster. After Lamborghini recently announced a major electrification offensive, this Aventador could be the brand’s last sports car of its kind.

Performance

The 6.5 liter 12-cylinder naturally aspirated engine delivers 780 PS and 720 Nm Torque to the permanent, rear-biased four-wheel drive: 40 hp more than the Aventador S and 10 hp more than the SVJ. The extensive use of carbon fiber contributes to its dry weight of 1,550 kg. That is 25 kg less than the normal Aventador S and provides a power-to-weight ratio of 1.98 kg / PS. Armed in this way, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae catapults itself into 2.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h and delivers a top speed of 355 km/h. The negative acceleration is no less impressive: According to Lamborghini, the standard carbon-ceramic brake system decelerates from 100 km / h to a standstill in 30 meters. The eyeballs almost fall out of their sockets.

Handling

The four-wheel steering introduced in the Aventador S, the dynamic steering LDS (Lamborghini Dynamic Steering) on ​​the front axle, the active driving dynamics control LDVA (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva), which processes real-time information, and optimized aerodynamics ensure adequate handling. At the front, the LP 780-4 Ultimae has a special bumper that increases the contact pressure. The active rear wing of the aerodynamic system can be adjusted to three different positions depending on the speed and the selected driving mode. With the driving modes, the driver can not only choose from STRADA, SPORT and CORSA, but also set his own parameters in EGO mode. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are mounted on the 20 (front) and 21 inch rims. The individually adjustable digital instrument cluster displays the driving modes and controls the connectivity functions. Thanks to Apple CarPlay, there is also voice control. If you want to celebrate the last Aventador on the racetrack every now and then, you should treat yourself to the optional Lamborghini telemetry system.

Strictly limited

Lamborghini want to make the last Aventador a coveted collector’s item. That is why only 350 coupés and 250 roadsters of the LP 780-4 Ultimae are sold worldwide. Prices have not yet been revealed for the numbered final edition. In Austria, however, you will not be far from half a million euros.
