Don Chundro indicates in conversation with the Communications Service Suriname (CDS) that he has a good cooperation with the supervisory board. The entrepreneur calls on other entrepreneurs, but also every citizen to keep their own environment clean. “Citizen participation is crucial to keep Suriname clean,” emphasizes the owner of the sandwich shop. With the initiative, he hopes to stimulate the entrepreneurs at the Commissioner Thurkoweg to clean their own zone and to keep it that way.

District Commissioner Ricardo Bhola states that the entrepreneur is on the move. “He is currently expanding his business, but at the same time he is not only thinking about himself,” says the mayor. According to the DC, it is crucial to make your own environment beautiful. The image that the mayor wants is a clean and safe North-East Paramaribo.

Dc Bhola emphasizes that Chundro’s initiative fits exactly within the vision of the Ministry of Public Works. “We must call on society to be part of the solution,” said District Commissioner Bhola.
