KIA announced that it will adjust its production plan at its Pesquería plant, Nuevo León, thus suspending operations from October 11 to 15, resuming activities on October 18.

The Korean automaker said that it is because of the global phenomenon of semiconductor shortages that affects the automotive industry globally, causing the interruption in the supply of key components for the operation of various systems in current vehicles.

“This period will serve to maintain the production line, while other areas of the plant continue operations on a regular basis, thus allowing logistics services to continue, processing units for both the domestic and export markets,” said the firm in a release.

In addition, he said, the adjustment will not affect the commercial operation of the brand, since, through its distributors, both the service, as well as attention and sale will continue as normal.
