CSKA Moscow is in the final stages of signing an agreement with Khimki defender Alexei Shved (32 years old, 198 cm), BasketNews reports. According to sources, CSKA and Shved are working on the details of the deal. The parties are discussing a contract for several years.
Sponsors of Khimki will cover the difference between the current and new contracts of the Swede.
The Swede signed a three-year contract with Khimki last summer, but decided to leave the team, as the Moscow Region club will miss the next VTB League season due to lack of financial guarantees.
The Swede had offers in the offseason 2021 from two clubs in the Chinese CBA league. The Russian rejected them, not wanting to leave Russia because of his wife and children. The Swede decided to return to the Moscow club, for which he previously played from 2005 to 2012.
