Johann Vogel no longer coaches Switzerland U17

Johann Vogel is no longer the coach of the Swiss U17 team.

The 45-year-old Genevan and the ASF ‘have decided by mutual agreement to go their separate ways from the new 2022/23 season’, explains the Swiss Association on its website.

A 94-time international, Johann Vogel was hired by the ASF in April 2019, first taking care of the Under-19s before taking over the reins of the Under-17 selection in July 2021. The vision of the ASF and the former defensive midfielder ‘concerning the implementation of the new philosophy of play are not identical’, underlines the ASF.
