Jane Birkin and Zucchero, headliners of Cornouaille in July in Quimper – Quimper

While waiting for the celebration of its century of existence next year, the Cornouaille festival announced, this Friday, the names of the artists who will perform on the main stage at Place de la Résistance. After Ibrahim Maalouf’s anthology concert, which shook the grandstand, the unprecedented meeting between Enrico Macias and the Bagad Penhars last year, it was the turn of Jane Birkin, Zucchero, The Celtic Social Club , Carlos Nuñez and Robin Foster to perform in Quimper.

Jane Birkin

12 years after her last album of unreleased tracks, Jane Birkin is back with a new album for which she wrote all the lyrics. ” Oh ! Pardon tu slept…” is a great intimate, personal and rare record. It was Étienne Daho, convinced by her talent, who finally managed to persuade her to record her own texts.

Sugar

Zucchero is undoubtedly one of the greatest Italian artists. In 39 years of career and with hits like “Senza Una Donna”, “Il Volo” or “Baila Morena”, he has sold more than 60 million records worldwide.

The Celtic Social Club

In seven years of existence, The Celtic Social Club has managed to impose a sound, a style and a name. The seven Franco-Irish continue to refine their elegant and daring reinterpretation of the tradition of Celtic music, with great bursts of rock energy, pop harmony and folk melody. In their fourth album, “Dancing or dying? we find the exceptional voice of Irish singer Dan Donnelly.

Carlos Nunez

It is said of Carlos Nuñez that he is “the only planetary star of the bagpipes” or “a piper who plays like Coltrane or Hendrix”. His charisma, his energy, his pioneering spirit made him one of the best musicians in the Celtic world. He will be accompanied by the Orchester National de Bretagne whose many creations and shows linked to Celtic and world music make him an essential ambassador of Armorica.

Robin Foster

After a few albums released in digital format, while the world outside is slowing down due to the pandemic, Robin Foster returns to the studio. From this isolation is born the album “PenInsular 3”, the last stone of a work in three movements, begun nine years ago. All the elements that make Robin Foster’s signature are more present than ever: melodies suspended in time, plunged into abysses, atmospheres from the ends of the earth… and always this same strength in the composition, capable of releasing a deep feeling of peace and serenity.
