Istanbul Strait is opened to ship traffic again – Last Minute Turkey News

A ship sailing from Egypt to Bulgaria had a machine failure off the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.

Due to the malfunction, ship traffic in the Bosphorus was suspended in both directions.

The 134-meter-long ship “SPARTA” was safely anchored at Türkeli Anchorage Area after being rescued with the intervention of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety teams.

The Bosphorus was reopened to ship traffic as of 22:00, after the teams completed their checks in the region.
