Kyiv Yuri Butusov knows the conflict from the inside perspective and is considered one of the most knowledgeable analysts of the Ukraine war. In an interview, he sharply criticized President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Although he appears convincingly in front of the international community, “he understands nothing about warfare or defense”.
Nevertheless, he sees his country as having an advantage over the Russian aggressor: “The Ukrainians are more motivated and smarter than the Russians.” Butusov accuses the West of not having a fundamental understanding that “the active phase of World War III has begun in our country “.
Butuzov is the best-known Ukrainian war reporter and was an official adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in 2020.
