The Google Camera app has now arrived at version 7.2 and can be used on the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 3, other or older devices need to install a modified version of the app for themselves. And while with version 7.1 among other things already the new Astrophotography mode on older devices was shoveled, provides the new version for an even better integration of Google Lens and additional features.
So you can now direct the camera directly to documents and Google Lens offers you various options on what you can do with the document everything. You may scan that accordingly, then crop it and finally share it as a PDF or image of the usual services. Texts in your system language can be copied with Lens, texts in other languages can be translated on request. At the same time, in the current version of Google Photos, a new editing filter (shown at the top of the screen) "Astro" is being offered, which is supposed to polish up such starry sky shots.
Owners of a Pixel 3 and 4 do not have to do according to Android Police and should be able to use the new features meanwhile on their Smartphone. Whether those functions also work with the modified Google camera app is questionable, since the smartphones would have to have according to Android Police on a visual core processor.
